We share our experiences with other parents in similar circumstances; it helps us to feel that we are not alone. We talk to teachers, health visitors, GP's and others that we think can help.
WHY WE GOT TOGETHER
Feeling frustrated because we were not being listened to, being judged constantly, having to fight to get our children the support they need.
WHAT WE DO
Offer support to other parents who have a chile with additional support needs. Share our stories. We have speakers coming to visit the group including professionals. We go out to meet professionals and other groups sharing our experiences and showing our DVD.
HOW IT CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Give each other ideas and advice based on our own experiences. Raising awareness to the wider community and with professionals about hidden disabilites. Reducing isolation amongst parents.
